Ballast Sounding Table Forms, Import/Export & Settings:

​

  • Addressed and resolved a critical issue in the TANK SETTINGS Userform. Previously, if the textbox for "Tank Name" was left blank, it would trigger a runtime error 1004 in the referenced TANK Sheet. This problem persisted even when attempting to Unprotect and Protect the linked sheet, leading to the same error. The fix ensures that leaving the "Tank Name" textbox blank no longer causes runtime errors, providing a seamless and error-free experience when working with the TANK SETTINGS Userform.

 

  • Addressed and rectified a critical issue related to the Radio Button functionality for selecting "SOUNDING IS IN CENTIMETERS" in Tank Sheets. Previously, this selection led to a "#Value!" error in Sounding Report Forms. The fix ensures that choosing "SOUNDING IS IN CENTIMETERS" via the Radio Button no longer causes the undesired "#Value!" error, ensuring accurate and error-free data representation in Sounding Report Forms.

 

  • Implemented an enhancement by adding a Dropdown Menu feature in both Sounding-Initial and Sounding-Final sheets. This Dropdown Menu provides the option to choose between "Sounding," "Ullage," or "Sngd/Ull" to explicitly define whether the entry pertains to sounding, ullage, or a combination of both. This new functionality adds clarity and flexibility to the data input process, allowing users to specify the nature of the entry accurately.

 

  • Implemented a new function to enable the editing of "Set Decimal Places to Display" directly within the UserForm instead of relying on the ActiveX Textbox. This enhancement addresses the issue encountered in certain screen resolutions or versions of MS Excel, where clicking and editing the ActiveX Textbox was problematic.​With this improvement, users can easily edit and configure the decimal places for display directly within the UserForm, eliminating any hindrances related to screen resolution or Excel bitness and architecture. This update enhances accessibility and usability for a more seamless experience in diverse environments.

 

  • Resolved a critical issue related to the import process of SCLData in TANK Sheets, specifically addressing corruption when importing data from created versions 2.7 and below. The fix ensures that the import result of SCLData is no longer compromised, maintaining data integrity and preventing corruption when dealing with exports between the specified versions. This update guarantees a smooth and reliable import process for SCLData in TANK Sheets across different software versions.

 

 

Formula Correction:

 

  • Corrected a formula error in the Draft Survey Form for the manual calculation of Mid Draft Correction Sign in the Final Survey. The fix ensures that the formula accurately calculates the Mid Draft Correction Sign, resolving any errors that may have occurred when using then manual calculation form in the Final Survey. This update enhances the reliability and correctness of the Draft Survey Form, providing accurate results for the Mid Draft Correction Sign in Final Surveys.

 

 

Improvements:

 

  • Enhanced the performance of SCLData and UserData Export and Import processes by implementing optimization measures. Additionally, a progress bar has been incorporated to provide users with visual feedback, indicating the ongoing progress of the procedure until completion. This optimization ensures a more efficient and streamlined experience when exporting or importing SCLData and UserData. The addition of a progress bar enhances user experience by offering clear visual cues, making the export and import processes more transparent and user-friendly.

Version 3.3 Changelog

Draft Survey

  • Added anticipation of loaded cargo excluding constant in Draft Survey Sheet to ascertain whether the loaded cargo quantity (as indicated by Cargo/Constant) matches or exceeds the cargo quantity specified in the Bill of Lading.

  • Draft Survey Print out: Revised Initial Displacement to Deadweight with included formula and descriptions to all survey reports.

  • Draft Survey Blank Form: Revised Initial Displacement to Deadweight with included formula and descriptions to Initial and Final Survey Forms.

Tank Settings / Ballast Forms

  • Fixed error in formula in TANK 43 for true volume lookup.

  • Added "Divide Corr'n By" for Secondary Means of Correction in Tank Settings UserForm for flexibility and divide the correction value independent from the main form settings.

  • Fixed macro code in Protecting/Unprotecting all tank sheets.

  • Fixed error on missing link of "Sounding in Centimeters/Meters" radio buttons in TANK Sheets. This also fixes the issue if the selected sounding is in Centimeters which lead to display error value in "Sounding-Initial" and "Sounding-Final" sheets.

  • Fixed and resolved the issue on Run-Time Error 1004 in Tank Settings.

  • Added temporarily disable update in Tank Settings to prevent reloading of the UserForm everytime you update the tank names on the TANK sheets.

  • Rectified names of TANKS 30-60 for consistency.

  • Added Remove Leading Apostrophes feature in TANK sheets to ensure the tank sounding table data are formatted as number rather than text.


Deadweight Calculation Sheets

  • Fixed locked cells on thresholds value.

  • Fixed the arrangement of "Master" and "Chief Officer" in "Prepared By" and "Approved By".

  • Change the conditional formatting Threshold formula to work if the Diff is more or less than the set Threshold against the Cargo To Book value.


New Feature/UserForm

  • UserForm called "Cargo Loss due to Deflection." This UserForm provides a clear presentation of deflection data, ranging up to 30cm, along with the corresponding cargo loss calculations.

  • This UserForm includes a "Draft Survey Type" feature, enabling you to assess cargo loss against the expected True Mean Draft/Quarter Mean and Trim. This added functionality ensures a comprehensive analysis of cargo loss.

  • What's more, when comparing the cargo loss data obtained through the Draft Survey Type with other methods, you can be confident in the accuracy of the results, as this feature maintains consistency in cargo loss values.

 

This feature is most effectively utilized in two primary scenarios:

  • Sag/Hog Allowance in Deadweight Calculation: It can be used to incorporate sag/hog allowances into the deadweight calculation. By factoring in the actual deflection data provided by the UserForm, you can ensure that the vessel's deadweight calculations accurately account for declaring sag or hog allowance.

  • Determining Cargo Loss in Final Draft Survey: During the final draft survey, this feature proves invaluable in assessing cargo loss due to actual deflection. By comparing the observed deflection and resultant cargo loss against your initial cargo booking, you can verify whether the cargo was loaded in accordance with your original plans. This helps maintain transparency and ensures that your cargo operations align with your booking agreements.

  • In both cases, the UserForm "Cargo Loss due to Deflection" serves as a vital tool for enhancing accuracy and reliability in cargo computations.


Other Important Fixes and Changes

  • Add Query for Device UID (displayed in Devices UserForm) for Remote assistance registration.

  • Removed Registration Page (Old Method) to simplify the Registration Procedure.

  • Added Surveyor in Profiles/Rank dropdowns.

  • Fixed Print of AirDraftCalc & Make the menu button to not included on printout.

  • Fixed the header Stowage Plans Sheets header that displays Master & Chief Officer if the Registered User Rank is Master.

Ballast Forms and Tanks Settings

  • Optimized Tank Management: Managing tanks is now simpler and more intuitive than ever before. With 60 tanks at your disposal (including 40 Water Ballast Tanks, 10 Fuel Ballast Tanks, and 10 Others), you have the power to control your ballast calculation with precision.

  • The new update introduces a feature: Data Check by conditional formatting. This intelligent function ensures accuracy by highlighting potential data discrepancies. You'll be able to identify and address issues swiftly, ensuring your ballast calculation is always spot-on.

  • Elevating the form layout experience, the new re-worked macro code significantly enhanced the speed of adjustments in Form Settings. Plus, the SmartCAL-Load 3.2 added a dynamic progress bar to provide you with real-time visibility into the background macro's activity as it transforms the form layout. Your interaction with the software has never been more responsive and informative.

  • This new version introduced Freeze/Unfreeze Pane View functionality in Tank Table Sheets. This enhancement ensures a seamless experience while entering or viewing sounding table data. It's all about making your interaction with the software as smooth as possible.

  • Gone are the days of distorted buttons due to screen resolution differences. SmartCAL-Load 3.2 adapts seamlessly to your device, ensuring a harmonious interface. The moment you click, the radio buttons reshape themselves, maintaining a polished appearance.

 

 

Hydrostatic Table 

  • Added columns for TKM, IT, VOL & CP necessary for transverse stability calculations and for future development of this program moving forward.

  • New Data Check feature, enhanced by Conditional Formatting, transforms error identification. It vividly distinguishes error data using a spectrum of colors, simplifying the process of pinpointing and resolving issues.

  • Incorporated a choice between Area or Line Charts for error validation in entered data. This visual approach provides you with intuitive means to ensure accuracy.

  • This version introduced a function that promptly alerts you if your entered Starting Draft, Max Draft, and KT Correction align accurately with the Summer Displacement declared in the Data Sheet. This intelligent feature ensures your setup matches specifications seamlessly.

Registration (Enhanced Registration Support)

  • Taken user convenience to the next level by introducing comprehensive Registration Support. Even if Method 1 & 2 fail to register SmartCAL-Load, this new features got you covered with this 3 Cases of solutions. Choose the case that suits you best:

  •  Case 1: Register Online: Effortlessly register online for a seamless experience.

  • Case 2: Register Offline: If offline registration is your preference, this option is tailor-made for you. Please note that this feature requires Registration Tool version 2.5 and above.

  •  Case 3: Unique Scenarios: For scenarios where USB flash drive usage is restricted or Mac computers operate with virtual machines, this solution stands ready. This case accommodates situations where USB drive letter assignment isn't visible in Windows File Explorer.

Login-logout-Register

  • Added function to Logout the user account to disable saving, exporting, importing and creating excel version for mobile devices. This function does not hide the program unlike from the older version, logging out will hide the excel instance and logging on in demo mode will activate the 20 minutes time-limit on the instance of SmartCAL-Load program. This is best use to prevent other users to change your data inadvertently on unintentionally without your knowledge.


Hydrostatic Table Interpolation GUI

  • Introducing the new Hydrostatic Table Interpolation Graphical User Interface (GUI), meticulously designed to seamlessly align with the updated Hydrostatic Table Sheet (Hydro Sheet). This interface is your gateway to unrivaled hydrostatic analysis. It not only verifies the accuracy of your hydrostatic table setup in the Hydro Sheet but also guides you through potential errors. When discrepancies arise, this system identifies the possible causes, empowering you with the insights needed for effective rectification.

Unknown Draft at One Side

  • The new GUI boasts an integrated interpolation database that unlocks precise insights. It now provides "Distance between Drafts on the Waterline" measurements at your desired drafts. This data-rich feature accelerates your analysis with accuracy at its core. To streamline your workflow, this new feature included a function that effortlessly stores acquired "Td(f)" or "Td(a)" measurements. This data is seamlessly saved to the Draft Distance Between Draft Marks Port and Stbd User-Database sheet, ensuring easy access to your crucial information.


Excel Version for Mobile Devices

  • Changed the sign of Trim in Manual Trimming. In version 3.1, the trim by the stern shows negative sign.


Stowage Plan - Form 1-4

  • Fixed Run-time error "9" Subscript out of range when importing data from "Breakdown and Final Survey".


Sequence

  • Fixed Run-time error "424" Object required when exporting the form into separate excel file.

Required Weight to Upright

  • Added auto computation of GM & RP using TKM data from Hydrostatic Table to solve for weights to be added/subtracted or transferred.

Draft Marks Distance Correction Userform GUI

  • Fixed issue with disappearing entered value when launching the Userform Graphical User-Interface (GUI) from Draft Survey sheet where the entered value for the draft distance corrections disappears and the value in Data sheet also changes when being re-launch.


Moderate Weights

  • Fixed the locked cell for selecting the calculation settings to be used for obtaining the hydrostatic data needed for calculation.


Computer Unique Identifiers (UID)

  • Completely revamped the method for retrieving computer Unique Identifiers, setting the stage for a new era of stability and reliability. This robust approach ensures that obtaining Unique Identifiers is a seamless process, eliminating past errors that stemmed from administrative privilege restrictions. The reworked code guarantees a smooth and effective registration process. No longer will you encounter hurdles arising from Administrative Privilege issues when utilizing WMI in the code. This enhancement eliminates potential roadblocks, paving the way for a successful and hassle-free registration experience.

  • Implemented Database system for ship's data listbox (Old data type can also be loaded integrated) - Download all available ship's data from the cloud server. Ship's data can be imported by simply searching & selecting the desired ship and clicking the Import Ship button.

  • Fixed error on Import/Export UserData in Cargo Breakdown Sheet.

  • User can now unregister the current or all devices embedded on the SmartCAL-Load Devices list.

Cargo Forms:

  • DWT Calc Forms are now 4 Forms.

  • Stowage Plans Forms are now 4 Forms.

  • Management of Cargo Forms Workgroup (All Cargo forms can be grouped view to trim down your workspace).

  • All data on all Cargo Forms can be imported/export into another Cargo Forms.
     

​Profiles:

  • The "Person 2" can now be set other than "Master" such as Surveyor or Blank for more flexibility of the forms used during the formalities.

Export/Import of Backup Data:

  • User can now export the user inputted data (.UserData file) from all forms like draft readings, ballast sounding readings, freeboard, and air draft calculations and etc. This will allow the user to import the backup user data (.UserData) into a new version of SmartCAL-Load particularly version 2.7 and beyond. 
     

Improvements:

  • Going across sheets/forms are now much faster than the older version.


  • - Compiled project are now much resilient to antivirus software that is recently detected as a false-positive alert.

  • - User now can create an autorun.inf file in order to rename the dedicated USB Flashdrive into "SMARTCAL". On some occasions, the user is unable to rename the USB flash drive manually due to the presence of autorun.inf that set the rule to name the USB Flashdrive which is sometimes hidden in the root folder. Creating and saving the file to the user's dedicated USB Flashdrive will replace the existing autorun.inf to rename it into "SMARTCAL" through this function.

     

Some minor bug fixes and improvements:

  • Fixed bugs on mixed/scrambled corrected value in Double Interpolator.

  • Fixed bugs on unselectable OptionButtons in TankInitial and TankFinal forms.

  • Cosmetic changes and improvements.

  • Fixed bugs no formula in the created file of the "Create Excel Version for Mobile Devices" function.
